The traditional commercial centers, specifically the ones named "galerias" of Concepcion's downtown area, extend across time and fill a space in the day to day of the city of Concepcion of the 20th century. Today, placed in a critical moment, they become an interesting object of reflection and projection of what is unique to local "penquista" society, of its inhabitants and their longings. Here we offer a several ideas to contribute to the discussion of their importance and future.
