Among the focus and the metropolis, referential and dichotomous models, one from the remote inhabiting, another one from the accelerated urbanization the Latin American city lies. A vast urban space containing inside itself geo-cultural areas clearly differential and that operate as interstices between these two paradigms. One of these areas refers to the sub-Panamanian coastline running from the Colombian Pacific to the Patagonia. This chain of ports and coves have given rise to a life style, a worldview, a form to use the space that has been recorded in their inhabitants' memories through an urban port-city and popular literature that enables the construction of border poetics. A counter discourse not to be imposed over the canon, but to offer another form to both inhabit the space, profoundly linked to the sea, and understand the cultural-literary event.
