Comparing three love poems by Quevedo with their models by the Italian author Luigi Groto, this work hopes to prove that the quevedian imitation o remaking is not a mechanical action but it always implies the use of original resources in order to update the tradition. In particular, in these three poems, all containing mythological characters, the reader can appreciate how Quevedo treats the myth in an unconventional way that does not fit with the serious tone of love poetry, tending towards burlesque modes.
