The creation of the Inter-American defender, means for the Inter-American Human Rights System to ensure new mechanisms that contribute to enhance the principles of due process of law and access to justice, especially for those people who do not have the resources to deal with this process before the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. This applies to all organs of the Inter-American Human Rights System, which also emphasized the responsibility of States towards vulnerable groups such as children and disabled people.
