This research studies the hispanic/chilean-mapuche-huilliche interrelation in Valdivia's territory during the late colony and proposes, for its comprehension, the concept of "colonizacion fronteriza" by which it can be possible to differentiate what happened in that region from other processes of hispanic-indigenous interrelations in Chile. The study focuses on the process of the conformation of private property and some of the transformations that this produces in the Valdivia region at the end of XVIII century.
