The research on Origen's De Principiis II, 11, 4 seeks to answer the question: "To what extent does truth respond to the desiderium naturale in human beings? One can realize there is a large coincidence between the meaning of desiderium naturale in Origen and Thomas Aquinas, in their existential dinamism and in the relation between elements depending on will and intelligence, which annouces "the basic tendency" of the human being, recognized today as result of neuroscience. But it is hard to explain that Herni de Lubac, important Origen researcher, in his clasic study Le Mystere du Surnaturel, which describes magistrally the desiderium, does not mention De Principiis II, 11, 1-7, although there is a short note about it in an other study. In fact, it has been hard to find a study dedicated to the desiderium naturale in his extensive bibliography.
