The objective of the current study was to explore how many students have been published between 2009 and 2013 in two journals of Psychology that belongs to two universities in Chile recognized by their researchs. An important aim was to contextualize the current state of science in our country. To do so, we reviewed the publications of Psykhe and Revista de Psicologia. Results indicated that only one student have been published in that time. Also, that most researchers are just graduated, and most of the research is conducted by Chilean, Argentinian and Spanish researchers. Based on this, it is discussed the role that students have in the research process and the role that formation on research has in improving different science indexes used to evaluate scientific and intellectual production.
