Studying leadership has always been relevant, because in the way it manifests, it will influence on the success or failure of the organization, and the universities are not an exception about. In this respect, this paper pretends to show an analysis done on the appreciation, that in relation to the transactional and transformational leadership, professors and students have about a university campus in a State University in Chile. To achieve that purpose, a Bass and Avolio's (1991) adapted questionnaire of leadership styles was applied to a sample of 50 professors and 128 students. The results showed, in general, an asymmetry between educators' look -in relation to their leadership- and the perception students have about theirs.
