The article seeks to develop a discussion about the place of the notion of history in The Order of things. For this purpose, a series of reading keys that are related, first, with double treatment that has the history in the book of Foucault, both as a content itself is revised about every epistemic break as well as a methodological analysis bet gets fit transversely in the book and is in the heart of the archaeological bet. At this point, he realizes the differences and distances of archeology against the continuist conceptions of history, bringing the analysis to the second interpretative axis: to investigate the meaning of the notion of arche involved in archeology under its two semantic registers. The arche understood as beginning and, moreover, direction or commandig. The status of truth in the history as Foucault states, as well as tensions between History and history are reviewed from this perspective. Finally, we analyze how the emergence of a protagonic unrepresentable historicity leads to raise the issue of return of language in proportion to the fading figure of the human evoked towards the end of the work.
