This article explores the presence of maps and mapping practices in three films by Chilean documentary filmmaker Ignacio Aguero: No olvidar (1982), Suenos de hielo (1993) and El otro dla (2012). These documentaries show different physical, material, and filmed presences of maps which in turn account for the practice of cartography as a craft, as a technical and institutionalized object, or as an intervention or appropriation of maps as a physical and affective practice.
