There is no better theory than the one learned in practice. With these words, we want to show the importance of academic work on creativity subject within the career of Graphic Design in a Chilean State University and the transcendent of the development of creativity in students. The graphic designer is per se a creative being and therefore we share the words of Ricard in the sense that "creative ideas are not deduced from what is already known, we must find them in the unexplored sources of the unprecedented." (Ricard, 2000: 180). Through this article, we will develop the concepts of creativity and divergent thinking, and its transcendent in mental restructuring and contribution that thereby young designers make to the development of a more inclusive society.
