Given the abundant literature not only philosophical, but also the from one other disciplines as the sociology, the political science, the medicine, the education, between others that approach the phenomenon of the biopolitics, this article realizes an overall view for some "receptions" brings over of the above mentioned problem: the Governmentality Studies and some analytical philosophers; the reception in France and in Spain; the negative and affirmative biopolitics; the biotechnology and bioethics; finally, the reception in Latin America. This itinerary without trying to be exhaustive, allows determine the character transdisciplinary, diverse, but also empirical of the "biopolitics". Likewise, it makes the discussion opened for the fact of which usually she is conceived erroneously as if it was an essence or substance.
