In this investigation, a single case study is presented to deepen the use of reflective portfolio to develop competition in future primary teachers majoring in mathematics. The study followed a qualitative methodology, analyzing the data obtained from interviews and document analysis. With the analysis of the data it was evident that students who develop all the tasks requested in portfolio achieved progress in the development of competition in the study and also the types of obstacles to development are distinguished.
