The aim of this text is to place the thought of Humberto Giannini within some of the main strands in contemporary philosophy; viz., existential philosophy and hermeneutic phenomenology, taking into account philosophers such as Heidegger, Sartre, Ortega y Gasset, Enrico Castelli. Everyday existence is underlined as a matter which especially concerned him. Thus, there are references to the topography and chronology of everyday life, to everyday transgression, to festive time, to existential "reflection", the psychological reflection, to experience and archaeology (philosophically understood).
