This critical study comes from the religious factor paradox in globalization and its American dysfunctionality, despite having been a key to its development as a country. The historical influence of the religious factor on the American idiosyncratic production or Americaness is evaluated (to agglutine identity, mentality and symbolic capital own and differentiated from other people). The periodic revision of its mitopoietic matrix and its legacy have been in charge by Cultural Studies, but since its excision and confrontation in the 1960s, in deep with the veils of confusion and cultural wars, it has become impossible to know what it is to be American (what it is the shared vision, mission and values). Because the current confusion and exaltation of the differential fact, there is not a single foundational milestone, also each community defends its own, againts others, as this study explains.
