This chapterPlace addresses the architecturalHousing complex aesthetic of Luciano KulczewskiLuciano Kulczewski, based on the study of two residential complexesResidential complex built between 1929 and 1935 in the commune of Providencia, Santiago de ChileSantiago de Chile, which shows a concern for the emotional bond between residents and the inhabited spaceSpace. Such sets, unpublished for current historiography, add to the first modern urban proposals inspired by the notion of neighborhood-garden. The affective consideration on the part of the architectural project includes what is called the creation of a “placePlace.” In fact, a placePlace differs from a spaceSpace because of a sentimental projection that, in these cases, results in a conscious search by the architect. Luciano KulczewskiLuciano Kulczewski's residential complexesResidential complex employ recognized architectural strategies that include arranging spaceSpace without sacrificing connection to the city and constantly ensuring that residents feel connected to the built environmentBuilt environment. These approaches, in turn, correspond to the political role attributed to the ornamental management and beautification of the ensembles.
