Due to its geographicalLandscape location, the difficulty of access toContemporary chilean architecture an extreme territory by travelers and conquerors, the presence of the landscapeLandscape has become a ‘mythical’ quality that defines ChileChile and its national identity. Throughout this research we will try to discuss how this imaginary associated with the landscapeLandscape is recovered in the process of disseminating the architectureArchitecture recently produced in ChileChile. In this regard, we argue that in such a process and from an essentially photographic perspective, the landscapeLandscape becomes an artifice and is at the serviceServices of the construction of an appreciative discourse that attempts to offer a coherent body of works that would define the contemporary Chilean architectureContemporary chilean architecture. It is this discourseArchitectural discourse, the role of the landscapeLandscape and its representations, what we will try to critically think about in this work. Regarding the results of the research, at this opportunity an advance of the interpretive framework of the study in dialogue with attention to specific cases that exemplify the proposed field of inquiry is presented.
