Sex education in Chile presents considerable heterogeneity, as it depends on the specific educational programs of each establishment. This variability has generated the search for alternative resources to traditional school texts, especially considering that errors have been identified in applying the International Anatomical Terminology (IAT) in school texts frequently used in the classroom. This study analyzed two commercial texts addressing physical and emotional changes during puberty and adolescence from the IAT perspective. The results revealed that 29 % of the terms evaluated present inconsistencies with the official terminology, highlighting synonymy errors as the most frequent (88.46 %, n=115). Likewise, eponymy and polysemy errors were identified. Consequently, an interdisciplinary collaboration between scientists specialized in morphological sciences and developers of educational resources at different levels is proposed to improve anatomical language accuracy to avoid terminological confusion.
