Throughout history, different religions have been a structuring element of societies that articulates the moral backgrounds of the world's ruling elites. In Latin America, the study of the political elite has shown heterogeneous positions on various topics, however, religion, being assumed as a generalized and determining factor in Latin American countries, has not acquired a relevant role within the theoretical discussion. From this perspective, the research seeks to identify: what are the religious profiles of Latin American parliamentary representatives? This questioning requires a comparative exercise whose objective is to define the characteristics (ideological, economic and moral) associated with the religious beliefs of the legislative elite in the region. To this end, the research develops a multidimensional methodological design of a descriptive, quantitative and longitudinal nature, which makes use of statistical models with data obtained from surveys aimed at the Latin American parliamentary elite. With this design, the research concludes that diverse religious beliefs articulate ideological and economic positions and the exercise of social freedoms, which contributes to the study of religion and its possible impacts on politics in Latin America.
