Collective health as an integral process that transcends the individual and biological to a historical and territorial perspective, rescues processes of social production/reproduction, considering socioeconomic, cultural and environmental factors, as dynamic processes that interact with each other and affect the health of community. Thus, this study seeks to understand the collective health of a territory of Copiapo-Chile, from the comprehensive framework of the Social Determination of Health, using qualitative methodology and elements of symbolic interactionism, developing semi-structured interviews, social cartography and participant observation. The results show the protective and unhealthy processes related to the collective health of the territory, from its complexity, synergy and subsumption, concluding that management, organization and community participation affect the health, development and transformation of the territory, promoting the resignification of the health from a collective perspective and the involvement of the state for the common good and good living.
