This study examines the relationship between working capital and the representation of women on boards or senior management positions. The goal is to ascertain whether womens' involvement results in more aggressive or conservative management regarding short-term financial resource allocation. The sample consists of large corporations listed on the Santiago stock exchange that publicly disclose their financial results. A total of 746 quarterly records were obtained from 76 Chilean companies. Unbalanced panel data analysis was performed using the Panel Corrected Standard Error approach. The findings indicate that female executives in Chile display conservative behaviors, leading to an increased allocation of resources to net working capital in firms with women in managerial roles. In contrast, women occupying board positions appear to promote a less conservative approach to working capital management.
