The article aims to analyse the different vassalage elements to be found in the Spanish assembly minutes of seventeenth-century Hispanic-Mapuche parlamentos, including the only previous parlamento which was held in1593. The minutes used are primarily those published by Zavala, although these are complemented by others that have not yet been published. The specific vassalage elements analysed include: the obedience, the royal pardon, the lord’s and vassal’s obligations and the indigenous cultural presence in the assemblies.
