This paper analyzes the sporting events organized in Parks and Nature Reserves in Chile between 2017 and 2022. The objectives of this research are to identify the number and evolution of sporting events, as well as to describe their characteristics. Based on information obtained from the National Forestry Corporation and supplemented with secondary data, the results show an increase in the organization of events, with a greater concentration in the southern region of the country. Mountain running and mountain biking were the predominant modalities, mainly concentrated in the spring and summer months, often featuring multiple and long-distance courses. The findings highlight the need to implement management measures to ensure a balance between recreational use and conservation in protected areas.
