The advancement of control and operation strategies in power electronics presents significant potential for enhancing system efficiency, reliability, and performance across various applications. This work investicates an optimized control strategy for multi-stage induction motor drive featuring interleaved boost DC/DC converters and two level voltage source inverters. The proposed predictive control demonstrates improved steady-state performance and reduced current and voltage ripple, achieved without including pulse-width modulation stages. The proposed technique is validated through extensive simulations and experimental tests on a power converter prototype.
