Artificial intelligence (AI) has transformed scientific research in the last decade. Its ability to process large volumes of data has revolutionized areas such as the natural and social sciences, allowing the identification of patterns, the generation of predictions, and the creation of new theoretical and methodological models. However, its implementation faces significant challenges, such as the absence of a systematic and standardized approach. The objective of this research is to examine research trends in the field. The methodology encompasses a search of the Scopus and Web Of Science databases. The results reveal a cubic polynomial growth with the years 2023 and 2022 as the most relevant, the thematic referents were the authors Liu and Zhang, the journals Innovation with Cognition and the countries United States and China. In the thematic evolution from research on Scientific study of language to ChatGPT and Remote research, the emerging and growing words were Generative AI, Scientific Integrity and ChatGPT. It is suggested to deepen the key concepts to meet the challenges and take advantage of the opportunities offered by artificial intelligence in scientific research. The conclusions provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of the art and suggest promising areas for future studies.
