This paper proposes to expose, analyze and contrast two of the main reflections on the foundations of technique within contemporary philosophy: Bergson and Heidegger. For this, first, we will review Bergson's approach to homo faber, his instrumental and anthropological understanding of technique. With this, secondly, we will contrast the French philosopher’s reflection with the Heideggerian description of technique. It is essential to make this contrast, since, if for Bergson technique is resolvedin instrumental fabrication, for Heidegger it will respondto a fundamental mode of aperture of Dasein. Finally, we will expose some points of proximity between both proposals within the framework of the critiques of modern science and technology, highlighting their provocative and unreflective operativity.
