The dismantling of decommissioned facilities is a relevant and increasingly common issue within the context of the expansion of our electrical transmission system. Although the current regulatory framework provides tools to address the responsibility and costs associated with these activities, it has limitations that hinder the efficient integration of social, environmental, and economic interests. Therefore, based on a brief regulatory review of the transmission sector and existing alternatives, this paper proposes certain modifications that would allow the declaration of dismantling activities for obsolete or decommissioned transmission facilities under a differentiated remuneration regime and objective criteria. This would facilitate their timely execution and promote a sustainable approach for the transmission segment.
