Introduction: Florid cemento-osseous dysplasia (FCOD) is a rare fibro-osseous lesion of unknown etio-logy, usually difficult to be diagnoses. FCDO is most prevalent in afro-descendant women in its fourth and fifth decade of life, usually affecting both mandibular quadrants and rarely affecting one maxillary quadrant. Radiographically, multiple radiolucent lesions are observed in an initial stage and mixed and/or radiopaque lesions in advanced stages. Clinical Case: A DCOF is reported as an incidental finding in which multiple lesions of mixed density, oval form and defined limits are observed, affecting a maxillary quadrant and both mandibular quadrants, in a 31-year-old afro-descendant woman. The patient had been referred to a public hospital from de Maule Region, Chile, for a complication of the extraction of tooth 4.8, performed without a prior dental radiograph. Tooth 4.8 was removed and the lesion surrounding the roots of it was biopsied. Clinical and radiographic follow-up to assess the evolution of the remaining lesions are indicated. Conclusions: The overall analysis of clinical and imaging characteristics is essential. The histopathological exam is not indicated or sufficient for diagnosis. In the present case, the lack of previous dental radiographs exposed the patient to possible more serious complications. When suspecting FCDO, it is preferable to indicate a single radiographic examination which includes maxilla and mandible at the same time.
