Introduction: School violence is a global concern since it is the cause of many deaths, being students and teachers a population vulnerable to these circumstances. Objective: The aim of this study was to know the perception of Physical Education teachers in a central-southern region of Chile regarding episodes of physical violence in the school territory. Methodology: The qualitative method was used, applying the semi-structured interview technique through which data were collected to know the impression of the teachers in relation to the phenomenon studied. The participants were active teachers from three educational centers and the sample was composed of eight Physical Education teachers. Results: The total number of interviewees stated that in their initial teacher training they did not receive any information or preparation regarding violence in the school environment, and that they do not feel qualified to intervene in such situations. Conclusions: It is concluded that it is essential that the curricula implement the concept of school coexistence for initial teacher training, on the other hand, it is absolutely necessary that schools provide opportunities for teachers to be trained on violence in order to contribute and intervene in a better way in difficult situations.
