The article reports an exploratory research at the phenomenon of Artificial Intelligence technology, observed from a socio-critical perspective in relation to legal training. We review the society of industrialization and computerization, with focus on the fourth industrial revolution, we questioning the impact of technology on society and human beings, and more specifically on university education. After addressing the problems generated by the digitalization of society, we link TIC with learning and active methodologies from a digital pedagogy approach, highlighting that there is a kind of continuity-discontinuity between these phenomena and the incorporation of AI, specifically on chatGPT. we research the active learning in relation with the active methodologies, allow the incorporation of AI technology, and that it can serve a socio-critical training, making it necessary to familiarize the student with technology before he or she encounters it on the daily practice of the profession. All of which, basedon an approach in which Chile and Latin America are seen as subaltern societies, exposed to the inequalities recreated by the fourth revolution now regarding the development and commercialization of AI
