University Social Responsibility is crucial in a period when universities are focused on meeting the productivity and economic utility demands of mercantile education models. Many of them are adopting approaches such as Service Learning (ApS) and Design Thinking (DT) to integrate sustainable development into their curricula. This study aims to validate a pedagogical model that combines ApS and DT in higher education. A qualitative approach is used to validate the concept with a social organization and to obtain expert judgments from faculty members of a Chilean university. The results allow for the redesign of the proposal, identification of new key aspects, support for the positive impact from the faculty perspective, and provide recommendations for replicating the model in other educational institutions.
