Co-teaching is an educational approach aimed at improving the quality of teaching and learning processes by providing access to the school curriculum for students with special educational needs. Objective: To provide a systematic literature mapping on co-teaching in inclusive education. Metho-dology: A systematic literature mapping was conducted to identify, evaluate, and synthesize primary research related to the subject of study. Results: The findings offer a categorization of the limitations, strengths, and challenges of co-teaching, based on data from literature reviews conducted between 2000 and 2020. Conclusion: There is an urgent need to reproduce these systematic mapping studies, as they offer a comprehensive overview of educational phenomena affecting school systems. This is essential for advancing knowledge on the challenges of school education from an inclusive perspective.
