Objective: To update the evidence of the primary qualitative research regarding to the perceptions and meanings of the spirituality impact during the process of encounter an oncologic treatment in adults and their relatives. Methodology: A meta- synthesis was made, responding questions in the SPICE structure and based on the framework for SALSA reviews. 149 articles were retrieved from the databases, Scielo, BVS, PubMed, Scopus, CUIDEN, with the descriptors DeCS, spirituality and oncology linked with the boolean AND. Selection criteria were applied, a very precise reading was performed with CASPe template for qualitative studies. Results: The findings on the analyzed studies were distinguished in three thematic categories; the spirituality as a way to resignifying experiences, as a way to ease affliction, and last but not least, as a facing strategy to achieve resilience. Conclusion: The research question was answered amongst three main subcategories; resignification of the experience of caring, as a relief from physical/emotional suffering and as a facing strategy to reach resilience.
