In Chile, the study plans and programs are oriented to the traditional model of education, despite this, the Ministry of Education promotes that the establishments work in a collaborative and interdisciplinary way, through guidelines, which recommend the use of active methodologies such as Project-Based Learning (PBL). For these reasons, the objective of this experience is to present an interdisciplinary classroom project whose theme is: physical activity and healthy eating and the final product is the creation of a recipe book of medicinal herbs. To implement it, the teachers have worked collaboratively between all the subjects based on a planning focused on the sixth grade of a rural establishment, with the main subjects being: Physical Education and Health and Natural Sciences. Based on the theme: active and healthy life and through the interests of the students, they have developed the project using formative assessment to grade the experience. This has represented the common work between the teachers and offers an opportunity for the use of Project-Based Learning in the Chilean educational system. However, it is noted that the study programs do not present information on the use of these active methodologies.
