This review aims to comprehend the experiences, demands, and political-social ramifications of the disability movements in Latin America through a critical feminist lens. A comprehensive analysis of 39 scholarly articles was conducted. The primary focal points of the movement are recognition and political impact, with the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities serving as a catalyst for rights advocacy, notwithstanding its implementation limitations. In conclusion, it is noteworthy that a scant number of studies incorporate an intersectional analysis. Nevertheless, these studies discern the intricate nature of social inequities prevalent in Latin America. Adopting an intersectional perspective would facilitate a broader understanding of disability, circumventing identity categories and accentuating potential alliances among collectives for shared struggles and social transformation.
