Ankle sprains are common and can damage the midfoot ligaments, especially the ligaments of the Chopart joint complex, in conjunction with other injuries. Despite being difficult to detect clinically, it is estimated that the prevalence of Chopart complex lesions may be underestimated due to their lack of timely diagnosis, which can lead to long-term functional limitations and physical disability due to not receiving adequate treatment. This document describes the anatomy, appearance, and imaging evaluation of the ligaments of the Chopart joint complex. An early diagnosis of the injury can allow for appropriate treatment.
