This study measures the job satisfaction of Chilean women journalists in 2022 and compares the data with those obtained in 2016 using surveys conducted in conjunction with the Chilean National Association of Women Journalists. It also figures out what variables could affect such satisfaction and compares the results of women journalists from Santiago and the provinces. The comparisons of means and the regression analyses confirm that the freedom to make decisions, the promotion of diversity in the editorial staff, gender equality at work, and flexible hours are more determining variables than wage in accounting for provincial journalists’ job satisfaction, which has decreased significantly compared to 2016.
