The blueberry (Vaccinium spp.), recognized as one of the most significant horticultural crops globally, is valued for its rich bioactive compounds. Acknowledged as a “superfruit,” blueberries are renowned for their potential in combating chronic diseases. However, the susceptibility of blueberry plants to water scarcity presents a formidable challenge. This study investigates the impact of abscisic acid (ABA) and methyl jasmonate (MeJA) formulations, in combination with commercial plant biostimulants, on blueberry plants exposed to varying irrigation levels. Through a comprehensive analysis encompassing water potential, biochemical parameters, and antioxidant capacities, our findings underscore the remarkable efficacy of these treatments in enhancing water retention, mitigating oxidative stress, and promoting enzymatic antioxidant activities. Significantly, these treatments positively influence the accumulation of bioactive compounds in blueberry fruits, thereby augmenting their nutritional quality, fruit quality parameters, and antioxidant potential. This research offers crucial insights for the sustainable cultivation of blueberries, especially in regions grappling with water scarcity, providing a strategic approach to fortify the resilience of this vital horticultural crop.
