The massification of Higher Education in Latin America (OEI, 2021) promotes the implementation of policies and strategies that foster the formation of professionals who contribute to societal development. Therefore, evaluating the achievement of the graduation profile is necessary for the quality and relevance of the university educational process. The Universidad Catolica de Temuco (UCT) has implemented Cycle Evaluations (EC) as an evaluative mechanism to assess the level of competency achievement and monitor the graduation profile. The research problem lies in identifying: What are the historical traits that characterize the evolution of cycle evaluation as a monitoring mechanism to ensure the fulfillment of the graduation profile and its contributions to decision-making to promote quality and continuous improvement at UCT?
