This paper reviews and analyzes the correctional parents' faculties, about to their children, a prerogative regulated in the Chilean Civil Code, and developed in terms of its interpretation by the Committee on the Rights of the Child and its possible application as grounds for justification of liability under Article 10 No. 10 of the Chilean Criminal Code. The analysis of this relationship is carried out in the light of Claus Roxin's proposals, regarding the enactment in 2005, in Germany, of a Law for the proscription of violence in the family.
