This research describes and analyzes the generational rupture of the Revolutionary Left Movement in the context of the Third Congress held in 1967, in which a new generation assumed the movement's leadership. Starting from studies on youth and the focus of recent history, the hypothesis is raised that a generational break does not weaken or dilute the processes of political-social change but rather would inject new energies, contents, and speeds into these processes, allowing the incorporation of new actors, mentalities, practices, and political subjectivities. A qualitative content analysis method that considers data collection from a review of files developed by the movement is used. The results confirm that this generational rupture would be expressed on two levels: firstly, a rupture of a dialectical nature and, secondly, a rupture with an eminently political nature.
