Open Government and Open Data are related through transparency, accountability, citizen participation, technology and innovation. At the same time, these concepts are linked with records management and archives. In Latin America, the issuance of legal provisions for accessing information and transparency are aligned or serve as a basis for Open Government and Open Data strategies. However, it is unknown whether the existing provisions on records management and archives in digital format are part of said strategies or if they need to be revised. The goal of this study is to determine if there is a relationship between Open Government and Open Data strategies and the legal provisions for records management in Brazil, Chile, Mexico and Peru.
