It is remarkable that one of the most notorious attempts to provide an epistemic justification of conservatism has not been taken into account, namely Hans Freyer, Arnold Gehlen and Helmut Schelsky's works (main representative thinkers of Leipzig School). Through a theoretical reconstruction of Freyer, Gehlen and Schelsky'sthinking, we systematize Leipzig school's epistemic effort to justify conservatism. We characterize Leipzig school's idea of conservatism (I). We depict the epistemic justification of conservatism according to Freyer (II) to Gehlen (III), and Schelsky's variation on this matter (IV). Finally, we discuss the relevance of Leipzig School's cultural diagnosis (V).
