Each building, each city, or fabricated object constitutes an alteration of the natural cycles of matter and energy. Faced with an environmental crisis that threatens our survival, the possibility of an architecture coordinated with ecological processes and dynamics depends on a new relation of power with the matter that makes up our planet. This essay proposes to address this new pact from a logic of architectural design founded on a series of material and cultural hybridizations, of translations from one medium to another carried out in a studio course, placing waste as the matrix matter of new narratives that examine power and the aesthetics of the architectural object as a support for life. revealing the value in matter that did not have itwe were able to observe, or at least envision, each architectural product as an ecosystem, as a support for life, as the crystallization of a design shared with the agents that inhabit it. Perhaps, by being aware of the matter with which we work, with that which is born and returns to the earth, we abandon the illusion of creative freedom, so typical of our field, and we embrace-like natural cycles-the only freedom that amazes and matters to us, the one that ties us to our planet.
