This article aims to trace the early reception of the Slovenian philosopher Slavoj & Zcaron;iiek in the Chilean theoretical debate between 1998-2013. The interest of this article is not merely to list the mentions to & Zcaron;iiek in the local context, but to problematize the historical interests of the local theoretical scenes and the political scope of & Zcaron;iiek's dialectical materialist theory, considering that this reception is massified at the approach of the 2011 student movement under the need to turn to new theoretical references to understand the contingent reality.
