In a context of exclusion from the labor market and its profound effects in the subjectivity of workers in Chile, it is possible to observe the emergence of new forms of self-managed work, linked to social movements and new expressions of popular economy. This article presents the results of a cartography aimed at knowing the profile of these emerging workers’ organizations in the cities of Santiago and Concepcion, which are characterized by the link between the world of work and the reproduction of life with social and political activity. Some characteristics that define these new type of labor organizations are horizontality, self-management, job rotation, questioning of sexual division of labor, progressive collectivization of property, des-elitism of quality products, importance of the community, and maintenance of patriarchal care roles.
