This article analyzes, through transtextuality, the limits between reality and fiction in the stories “Juan Mendiluce Thompson” from La literatura nazi en América (1996), “Una aventura literaria” from Llamadas telefónicas (1997) by the writer Roberto Bolaño and the newspaper article “Tarantino y la muerte” (1995) by the writer Antonio Muñoz Molina. The discursive appropriation of the newspaper article links –intertextually and metatextually– literature and journalism. Seriousness and parody, as means of literary creation, allow us to interpret critical-ideological concepts overlapping under irony, such as the work of writers, the incidence of the publishing market and literary creation.
