Admitting for resolution management, deciding on endovascular treatment and use of IVUS. True aneurysms of the superficial femoral artery are rare, their main etiology being atherosclerosis. They are described mostly in men over 60 years of age. The rupture is estimated at 46%(1,2). Endovascular resolution, together with the use of intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), provides less invasive treatment and greater precision in measuring the length of the compromised segment, allowing measurements of the internal luminal diameters of the segments proximal and distal to the injury (3), essential data for choosing the prosthesis to use with greater correlation to the anatomy of the vessel, achieving a satisfactory result.
