This article tells the story of feminist and women's movements in the Atacama region, Chile, from the period of the civic-military dictatorship of General Augusto Pinochet to the present day (1973-2021). The study is positioned from a qualitative perspective that investigates the personal and collective trajectories of key actors of atacameño feminism through the biographical method that collected 22 stories between November 2020 and November 2021. The main results show a historical journey of the feminist/feminine movement in the territory, which began with the “Union of Women of Atacama” (1984-1990), seconded by feminist and women's movements after the return of electoral democracy (1990-2016). It culminated with the #NiUnaMenos movement in Atacama and the string of uprisings of feminist collectives in the regional territory (2017-2021). The main conclusion shows that the slogan of struggle: “The Atacama is not a safe territory for women”, describing the perceived patriarchal violence and injustice in the region, reveals the long-standing sentiment of the feminist and women's movements in the Atacama region.
