The Hurricane of Séquitor is the oldest active sports club in the entire Salar de Atacama basin; its existence crystallizes an unusual relationship between football and ethnicity, the regulations of sport intertwined with Atacameño ceremonies and rites. We characterize the history of the Club, pointing out its central moments in an ethnic and multicultural key. Methodologically, we relied on ethnographic research that included file review, field visits, interviews, and of course, playing soccer.
